A Rare Pavia Maiolica Cabinet Plate, Late 17th-- Early 18th Century.

Rare Pavia maiolica cabinet plate, finely painted with a central column on a plinth, with a figural medallion before classical ruins,
with figures in a landscape, the monogram on the reverse of the plate, may refer to the initials of either the painter Siro Antonio Africa
or his nephew Siro Domenico Africa.

Two similar examples can be found in the Ashmolean Museum, Oxford .
